This is a place of learning. Shelf after shelf, book after book is neatly lined up and actually contains many quite useful hints on the world. History, literature are just a few themes that are graced upon. But that is not what makes this library so unique. The books flying around like exotic birds are. Some even say that those books contain knowledge of hidden items and they just need to catch them. So why not lay down and read or try to catch an interesting book here?
This is a peace zone, no monster roams and no fight can ensue.
And so here he was again. Sometimes Shiel just walked over here to get some rest, but other times, he actually tried doing something like catching a book. It certainly looked weird, some people were climbing shelves to reach higher, other had already grabbed a book, but were now slowly being pulled with them. Yeah, these books were no laughing matter and Shiel had also heard of players dying here because they were dragged into the sky and ten falling down. Well, he didn´t believe that because this was a safe zone. But then again, the world could be kinda... weird sometimes, adding monsters at places they didn´t belong, sound effects where none should be, stuff like that.
And most of all this game was so lenient with rules it was actually laughable, you could do about anything here. But well, it was virtual reality and that so close it actually felt like real reality... or whatever it may be called. Tilting his head, he looked up at the title of the book flying above him. 'Beginners guide level 1-12' "Lookie here", he said while exhaling and grabbing at the book. But the book didn´t seem to like it and suddenly tried to escape, pulling him up a foot before it fell back down. Well, this could become quite a ride. A smirk appeared on his face as he now swung his other arm up to get a better grip while being pulled... right into someone else.

[atrb=valign,top][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,450,true][atrb=cellpadding,5,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true] Man, who went to libraries to read books while playing a game? Not very many people, that was for certain. Yes, the silver-haired man was probably an oddity, although perhaps less so because he was a wavemaster. Then again, if he wanted to read books, why didn't he just go out into the library in real life? It was question he wasn't going to answer. Unlike the others in the field, the wavemaster had built himself a small fort (not literally) of books he had caught, trapped safely on the ground, his eyes slowly skimming through the pages of one randomly chosen from the pile. To prevent his catches from floating away without his consent, it would seem the male was actually sitting on top of his minimal pile of books. If anything, he certainly looked like a busybody that shouldn't be bothered, deep in his studies of whatever he found intriguing.
Of course, in an online world, not being bothered was wistful thinking.
His mind too deep within the contents of his current book, Altairis was unable to notice as another player came bumping into him from behind, thanks to a book flying free. "Uwoh, what!" From the impact, the man had to jump forwards to prevent himself from toppling over on the miniature tower, but in doing so, his weight was lifted, and the rest of the books were up and away almost instantaneously. "Aaah, damn it..!" The male cursed under his breath as he regained his balance and watched the books soar away, although he didn't seem all that aggravated about it, his free hand moving to his head as he kept a strong grip on his remaining book. |

Shiel who had bumped into someone had out of surprise opened his hand and let the book accidently go. But he hadn´t even had time to sigh about this sudden loss that didn´t have much of an impact on him, he didn´t really need this book, but what happened then was much worse. He felt as if he was being assaulted by a few dozen of books, pushing him around.
"What the..." Before they could all pass, he grabbed one of the books and kept it down this time, it was a bit smaller than the rest and didn´t put up much fight. But it also looked quite roughed up as well. Maybe it had been used so often because it was that small? Well, whatever. Time to see what had happened. Turning around, he saw someone standing around, a displeased look on his face. Most likely the one he had bumped into, so those books that had roughed him up had been this guys, huh?
"Sorry about that." Shiel said with an apolegetic tone and face. "Didn´t mean to bump into ya, but these things are quite hard to catch. Here you go." Even though he knew it was only a weak thing to give now, he extended his hand with the book in hand, thinking it was one of them that had flown away. Scratching the back of his head with the other free hand.

[atrb=valign,top][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,450,true][atrb=cellpadding,5,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true] Like a flock of startled birds, the books all took off in an instant in a sea of pages, no doubt happy to have been released from their prison, but certainly not very mindful of their savior.
Hrmm. The wavemaster let out a small sigh, now even less prone to release the remaining book in his hand. Unsure of how this had happened, he looked over to see a fiery-haired man apologizing to him, and looking rather sincere about it too. If you asked Altairis, that kind of expression was really hard to find these days. It was kind of mandatory for him to forgive the latter then, although he wouldn't really have been that mad to begin with. Or at least, so he thought.
His eyes strayed to the book held before him, which he didn't actually recall seeing before. Perhaps a random book just wanted to fly with the crowd and ended up being a victim? Either way, it would have been rude to just deny it. Tucking his own book securely under his arm, the lighter-haired man took the book with a nod of thanks, before waving a free hand back and forth dismissively. "Nah, don't worry yourself about it. No harm done, really." His head titled upwards slightly, to the many inscriptions hovering overhead. "Probably wouldn't have had time to read through all of those..." He proceeded to murmur, half to himself.
In times like these, he probably should have said something more to the other. But that was something he was not good at in the slightest. |

That was kind of rare, someone who was not getting overly mad or childish in a game. Either he had just bumped into one of the more reasonable (pretty rare) or older people around here (not as rare as they should be). But let´s not judge here, Shiel thought to himself and took it upon him self to keep the talk going. But before that. He moved his fingers to his hair and again felt knots in it. Maybe he should really have taken a character who hadn´t this kind of thick hair and so much at that. Sighing, he scratched his head and wondered if he should just leave it at that for now.
"Ah, yeah. Name´s Shiel by the way. Again, I´m quite sorry for that, but one should think that a level 10 would be able to keep a book steady, huh?" He laughed embarrassed about his mistake. "So, if I may ask, what are you doing... reading here?" The question of doing would have been quite stupid, being a safe zone and all of it being a library it was quite clear that he wasn´t here for anything but reading up on stuff. "I was looking for hints on rare treasures and fields, after all some people say that every little piece of information is written down inside of this library. Even the bugs." Thinking about it, he actually for the first time understood how big a library this really was. It had to be so wide that it was quite weird. He shrugged away the thought inside his mind and thought about the treasure he wanted to find here to concentrate again.
