Use the same character sheet as everyone else, but there are certain guidelines to follow when making an NPC.
- NPCs are things such as the Shopkeepers; programs given a form that are designed to perform a specific task. Generally, Player-Controlled NPCs are bugs in the system, as normally an NPC cannot act outside of its given task. Whether they got hacked or infected with some kind of bug to break them out of their preset routine, an NPC is an anomaly.
- NPCs CANNOT have Player Classes, Skills, or Spells, as they are not designed to be able to have such qualities or abilities.
- NPCs CAN use items and have an inventory, as their coding does allow them to interact with items as a player can.
- NPCs who are infected will eventually be detected by the System Administrators and marked for Deletion, as their data shows up as a blip on the radar. Thus, they may eventually run into Moderators and Administrators intending to delete them, but they can avoid being deleted if they act smart about it.
- Infected NPCs cannot hack fields or items or anything; their altered data is what allows them to act like a person to an extent, and perhaps some cosmetic changes, but that is all it allows them to do.
These are the guidelines for making an AI, as they function a bit differently from an NPC.
- A member can only have ONE AI character, as AIs are rare and hard to develop.
- AIs are programs designed to be able to think and act of their own accord, and designed to be more 'human' than an NPC. An AI does not need to have some sort of bug or infected data to function like a player, but they need to act covertly or they will be spotted by Administrators and be marked for deletion due to their presence as anomalies and Vagrant Data.
- AIs can be designed to have a Class like Players do, but they can only have ONE. Because of their nature, AIs cannot receive the same Player Data modifications that take place to modify a Player from a Basic Class to an Advanced Class, or for an Adept Rogue to gain Job Extensions. As a result, an AI cannot have an Advanced Class, but an AI Adept Rogue will start with all of their classes unlocked. AI Adept Rogues lack the Multi-Trigger ability, however, as they did not receive their classes via normal means.
- AIs Skill, Spell, and Stat progression, should they have a class, is the same as a normal player of their class, as they are given form through the data of the class.
- AIs are more likely to be marked for deletion by the Administrators and Moderators because their log data differs from a normal player, despite having a Class.
NOTE: Being 'Marked for Deletion' means that an in-game encounter would take place between the marked NPC/AI and Cobalt Knights, NPC'd by a Staff member. The player is given the chance to avoid deletion if they act in an intelligent way to evade their captors.
More will be added if things come up. [/blockquote]
