As you quest, you will gain more items and EXP! You can use your GP, or Gold Points, to purchase some items and place them in your inventory. It is a good idea to update your bio as much as possible every time you gain a new item, or use one in a quest.
WAYS TO EARN GOLD! • Quest! Going on quests and defeating monsters will earn you gold AND EXP! • Contests! Sometimes we'll offer gold for prizes. • Events! Like Contests, sometimes people can earn Gold for in-game events on the site. • Arena Matches! Sometimes, people may bet on matches, and the fighters may get a portion of the proceeds. • Being a Merchant! Some Players take on self-given roles as Merchants and sell items to other Players in locations such as fields and dungeons. This isn't a bad way to make gold either! • PKing! You can get gold for PKing another player in the same way you earn gold from a Monster.
HOW DOES GOLD FROM MONSTERS WORK? • At level 1, you can earn 50 gold from defeating an enemy that is on your level. • For every 10 levels above level 1 (level 10, level 20, etc, etc), multiply your base gold drop by 5 (so at level 10, beating something on your level could yield a 250 gold drop). • For each level above yours the enemy is, you earn an extra 10 gold. For each level below yours the enemy is, you lose 10 gold. • If you beat a boss, then you just multiply the total gold you'd earn from it normally by 5. This just shows how much you get from defeating a powerful monster! • If you PK someone, the same basic system applies. You'd earn gold for PKing someone the same way you would for beating a monster. • If you encounter a Doppelganger and beat it, you will not get any gold. See below.
WHAT ABOUT DROPPED ITEMS? • The one running the encounter can substitute gold from the defeated monster and put in items of equal value instead (so the GM could take 50 gold off of the gold drop to put in a 50 gold item instead). • If you defeat a Doppelganger, you will receive one of their unique and rare pieces of equipment instead of any gold or normal items. Collect the whole set of their equipment, and you may get something~
*NOTE: THE ABOVE SYSTEM IS A DEFAULT FOR GAME MASTERS TO FALL BACK ON. THEY MAY CHANGE THE WAY THEIR DROPS WORK ACCORDING TO THE QUEST, WITH STAFF APPROVAL*
Starting items:
Health Drink x5 (recovers 150 HP) Mage's Soul x1 (recovers 100 sp) Resurrect x1
Items List:
There is a shop located in The World Servers that holds all of the items~!
HOW DOES EXP WORK? • You gain 60 EXP for defeating an enemy that is on your level (note that this is each creature, so a group of three on-level enemies would yield 180 exp). • You add 10 EXP for each level above you the enemy is, and remove 10 EXP for each level below you the enemy is. • You add 200 EXP to the base total for a Boss Monster, which can add up since bosses are typically above player level. • You add 250 EXP for defeating a Doppelganger, due to their rarity and their difficulty. • The required EXP to level up is 1000 EXP, no matter what level you are. This is a set gap between levels, so even if the numbers seem like a lot as you reach higher levels, it's no different from when you were level 1. • In a party, each member of the party gains the maximum amount of EXP that could be obtained from an encounter (so if a party of 3 beats a group of 3 enemies, each player would receive 180 exp rather than splitting the 180 amongst each other). • NOTE: Because we run on a one-account-per-person system, if you have multiple characters, you may have ALL of them be the level you have the EXP for. You don't want to have to keep track of which character has what EXP, and neither do we. So the level of your characters can be universal.
GAINING EXP! Gaining EXP is only something people do if they want to do so. So people who don't want to fight don't need to level up. EXP is only earned by people who want to reach high levels with their character, and go hunt monsters and such to get it.
Here are some ways to gain EXP:
• Quest! When you quest, you are not only getting EXP per encounter, you will get more EXP! You could level up quite a bit in one quest. • Contests! Join contests! A popular prize is normally a hefty amount of EXP. • Arena Matches! The typical prize for beating a player in the Arena is EXP based on the opponent's level, so this is a good way to level up without going through quests. • Events! Events, be them in game or not, can often yield EXP in some way or another. • Encounters! Sometimes, a GM may volunteer to endorse a random encounter in a regular Field or Dungeon outside of quests, so you could get EXP from this too. • PKing! You can earn EXP from PKing a player the same way that you earn EXP against players in the Arena or against Monters. But this isn't the cheap way though, since victims may have friends...
